The best way to decide whether you might like to join the club is to come along to one of our sessions – the first one won’t cost you a penny. As you’d expect in a place like Cornwall, we’re a pretty friendly, laid back bunch of people so we don’t tend to get too competitive about winning and losing (that’s not to say that we don’t have some very accomplished gamers in our midst).
Fees
Once you decide to join, annual membership costs £10 and a table fee of £5 is payable for every session you attend. CMWA doesn’t seek to make a profit – the membership and table fees go towards the cost of the hall, refreshments, competition prizes and replacement of club terrain. If the bank account starts looking too full we just lower the table fees.
Times
Sessions run from 9am to 5pm on every other Sunday (please see the Calendar section for dates), giving us plenty of time for several smaller games or one major battle. There are usually two or three different games running at any given meeting.
Facilities
We have a variety of tables and boards, allowing us to set up anything from a small skirmish to the Battle of Waterloo. The club owns a good stock of 2’ terrain tiles and smaller hexagonal tiles.
Members and guests help themselves to tea and coffee throughout the day and there is a shop next door selling snacks, sandwiches and pasties.
